Additionally, we cannot control the actions of other users of the Websites with whom you may choose to share your Submitted Materials. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your Submitted Materials will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.

Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies

As you navigate through and interact with our Websites, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain Personal Data about your interaction with our Websites, including:

  • details of your visits to our Websites. This includes: browsing history, email address (such as if you enter your email address into the email text field on the checkout page on our Websites), location data, advertising ID, communication data and the resources that you access, use, or otherwise interact with on the Website;
  • your general physical location based upon IP address;
  • information about your computer and internet connection, i.e., your IP address, operating system, and browser type;
  • and other similar network or browsing information.

The information we collect automatically is statistical data, may include Personal Data, and/or we may maintain it or associate it with Personal Data we collect in other ways or receive from third parties. It helps us to improve our Websites and to deliver a better and more personalized service by enabling us to:

  • estimate our audience size and usage patterns;
  • store information about your preferences;
  • customize our Websites according to your individual interests;
  • send you email reminders to complete a purchase and other related emails;
  • speed up your searches; and
  • recognize you when you return to our Websites.

The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:

  • Cookies (or browser cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. Our Websites may use both session cookies (which expire once you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them) to provide you with a more personal and interactive experience on our Websites. Unless you opt-out, we place non-essential cookies on your device. You choose not to receive non-essential cookies through our cookie consent manager, which you may access at any time by clicking “cookies” at the bottom of any page on the Websites. You can also set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. However, if you do not consent to our use of cookies or select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our Websites. You can find more information about cookies at https://www.allaboutcookies.org and https://youronlinechoices.eu. For more information about the specific cookies we may use on our Websites, please click the “cookies” link at the bottom of any page of our Websites, and review the detailed information provided under each category of cookies.
  • Session Cookies. Our use of cookies also includes “session cookies.” Each time you access the Website, a session cookie containing an encrypted, unique identifier is placed on your browser. These session cookies allow us to uniquely identify you when you use the Websites and track which pages of the Websites you access. Session cookies are required to use the Websites.
  • Web Beacons. Pages of our Websites and our e-mails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit PetLab, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain website content and verifying system and server integrity).
  • Website Interaction and Performance Monitoring Tools and Session Replay Technologies. Our Websites may also use interaction and/or performance monitoring tools (sometimes called tracking scripts, analytics tools, application programming interfaces (APIs), session replay tools, or heatmap tools). These tools execute code in your web browser or on our Websites to help us collect data about your use of and interactions with the pages and content on our Websites, including information automatically transmitted from your web browser to our Websites such as information about your operating system, computer hardware, and browser preferences. We use session replay technology provided by FullStory, who employs software code to record users’ interactions with the Websites in a manner that allows us to watch video replays of those user sessions. The replays include users’ mouse movements, keystrokes, navigation pathways, other actions that you take our Websites. These replays help us diagnose usability problems and identify areas for improvement. You can learn more about FullStory at https://www.fullstory.com/legal/privacy-policy and you can opt-out of session recording by FullStory at https://www.fullstory.com/optout/.

Details about the automated data collection technologies and the specific cookies that we use can be found in our Cookie Policy.

    • Complaints. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the applicable supervisory authority in the country you live in, the country you work in, or the country where you believe your rights under applicable data protection laws have been violated. However, before doing so, we request that you contact us directly in order to give us an opportunity to work directly with you to resolve any concerns about your privacy.
    • How You May Exercise Your Rights. You may exercise any of the above rights by contacting us through any of the methods listed under Contact Information below or via our help center web form HERE. If you contact us to exercise any of the foregoing rights, we may ask you for additional information to verify your identity. We reserve the right to limit or deny your request if you have failed to provide sufficient information to verify your identity or to satisfy our legal and business requirements. Please note that if you make unfounded, repetitive, or excessive requests (as determined in our reasonable discretion) to access your Personal Data, you may be charged a fee subject to a maximum set by applicable law.
  10. Consent to Processing of Personal Data In Other Countries Outside the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom

    In order to provide our Website, products, and services to you, we may send and store your Personal Data outside of the EEA or the United Kingdom, including to the United States. Accordingly, your Personal Data may be transferred outside the country where you reside or are located, including to countries that may not or do not provide an equivalent level of protection for your Personal Data. Your information may be processed and stored in the United States and United States federal, state, and local governments, courts, or law enforcement or regulatory agencies may be able to obtain disclosure of your information through the laws of the United States. By using our Website, you represent that you have read and understood the above and hereby consent to the storage and processing of Personal Data outside the country where you reside or are located, including in the United States.

    Your Personal Data is transferred by PetLab to another country only if it is required or permitted under the GDPR and provided that there are appropriate safeguards in place to protect your Personal Data. To ensure your Personal Data is treated in accordance with our Privacy Notice and this GDPR Privacy Addendum when we transfer it to a third party, PetLab uses Data Protection Agreements between PetLab and all other recipients of your data that include, where applicable, the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission and/or the Information Commissioner’s Office in the United Kingdom (collectively, the “Standard Contractual Clauses”). The European Commission and the Information Commissioner’s Office in the United Kingdom have determined that the transfer of Personal Data pursuant to the Standard Contractual Clauses provides for an adequate level of protection of your Personal Data, however, the Standard Contractual Clauses may need to be supplemented in some cases with additional measures on a case-by-case basis after an analysis that such supplemental measures can provide you with an essentially equivalent level of protection as afforded in the EEA and/or the UK. When, as a result of this analysis, we believe this to be appropriate and necessary, the Standard Contractual Clauses have been supplemented in this way. Under these Standard Contractual Clauses, you have the same rights as if your Personal Data was not transferred to such third country. You may request a copy of the Data Protection Agreement by contacting us through the Contact Information below.

  11. Data Retention Periods

    PetLab will retain your Personal Data for the entire time that you keep your account open, for as long as necessary or appropriate to serve you, maintain your account or as otherwise needed to operate our business, or until you request us to delete your Personal Data. Further details of the periods for which we retain Personal Data after this period are available on request. However, we may retain your Personal Data for any of the reasons listed below:

    • for as long as necessary to comply with any legal requirement;
    • on our backup and disaster recovery systems in accordance with our backup and disaster recovery policies and procedures;
    • for as long as necessary to protect our legal interests or otherwise pursue our legal rights and remedies; and
